Taking part in the Award in my early 20s opened up a whole load of new experiences and insight into myself. I know that not only am I capable of doing the things that I would have previously shied away from like meeting new people or trying new things on my own but I now actively seek out new opportunities to learn or try new activities.
Although I have now completed my Award, I’m still very much involved in the charity I began volunteering with for my Service section at both on the ground service level and also being part of my regional management team and national fundraising board. I can’t imagine the Award not being part of my life and I wouldn’t be able to be have the fun and impact on others that I do, if it weren’t for the Award.
