The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme gave me a chance to go away with friends I was already close with and make new friends. I enjoyed varying the skills I learnt across the levels and it cemented my volunteering position in Guiding, which to this day I am still doing. I look back on the memories of expeditions with fondness and laughter.
