This award motivated me to take on challenges I never thought I could before. Along with my groupmates, I planned and tackled an expedition journey that was kilometers and kilometers long. It wasn’t an easy journey carrying pounds of gear on my back and hiking through various terrain, but reaching the campground was the most rewarding experience. I was rewarded by being able to catch the sunrise peaking from behind the mountains while making breakfast. It was the best timing and the most spectacular view I had ever seen. Not only were the views mesmerizing, but the key lessons I learned from working with a team, finding improvements upon myself, and aiming to complete each goal was an experience that this award has given me, and it is not something I would have been able to pick up anywhere else. The award has taught me to work hard, believe in oneself, and commit to personal goals, all of which I find so valuable in shaping myself into a more well-rounded person.
