The adventurous journeys have been the highlight of all my awards so far. Completing the bronze adventurous journey with my school friends was good fun and then meeting people on the silver journey was awesome (I'm still friends with them all) however, I have to say my gold adventurous journey was absolutely life changing and I will remember it forever. I went to the Myall Lakes and did a kayaking journey. I met absolutely amazing people and we all became such close friends in such a short amount of time. We all helped each other with whatever we needed, for example putting up tents, pulling the kayaks up onto the beach, navigating, cooking food and even just having a good chat. Some highlights were seeing fireflies, chatting at midnight on a wharf under a full moon, having massive campfires and roasting marshmallows, singing songs, dipping our hats in the water to keep us cool, capsizing, swimming, watching sunsets and eating biltong on tiny foldout chairs, sharing gnocchi made in a tea pot, lugging a beach ball around so we could play with it at the campsites in the afternoons, creating inside jokes and so so much more. The memories made on that trip are truly things I think of often and know I will remember for the rest of my life. I was definitely quite a long way out of my comfort zone but I would never change a thing because I honestly had the time of my life.
