The DofE Awards and Young Ambassador programme are something that I will cherish forever. From rainy days in the Snowdonia mountains to certification at Buckingham Palace; there are no words to describe the immense pride you feel over your achievements and the desire to start another challenge immediately.

I have no doubt that the DofE Awards made me who I am today. I am confident, independent and open-minded because I was supported and pushed physically, mentally and emotionally throughout my Awards and again as a Young Ambassador.

I can't imagine my life without the DofE Award, DofE Wales staff, Award holders, participants and volunteers. The experiences I have had and the people I have met are undoubtedly unique.

This is all down to one man and his ambition to inspire future generations of young people. My deapest gratitude goes to HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh!
