As a trustee for the International Award, I have been fortunate to have met the Duke on a number off occasions during the least 12 years. In that time his level of engagement, interest, sharpness and wit never diminished. He remained very close to what was happening even though he had stepped down from the Board some years ago. I particularly recall an evening event with trustees at Bagshot Park with Prince Edward when the Duke at 95 was in his element asking challenging questions and staying alert and on his feet well into the night while some of us were flagging somewhat. It was an inspiration and a joy to see the close and relaxed family relationships in this setting.
