My one and only overnight camping trip in my teens was with my school friend Sheri. We were pretty hopeless at putting up tents, not exactly brilliant at using a compass and cooking dinner in the rain with a tin pot didn't go so well either! Our tent was inside out, we didn't really eat and we got lost in fields trying to find our way to the designated destination the next morning. But thirty years later, after that hilarious but slightly disastrous bonding experience, we are still the best of friends! The scheme is such an amazing way for people to build bonds with peers, whilst learning new skills and experiencing life outside the class room. Thank you to HRH for starting something that has touched so many, including me
