As a type one Diabetic, participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award was challenging but it gave me the opportunity to expand my skill set, meet new friends and, discover what I was truly capable of achieving regardless of my diagnosis. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my teenage years and I will forever be thankful for the doors that opened to me as a result of my participation.
