Being a part of this award has done helped with my social skills. I have always been a shy person being apart of the Governor Generals Youth Award taught me that staying organized and being a team player helps you to become a stronger person. You learn that it is not only about you and that people go through things without knowing how to help themselves. Cleaning neighbourhoods, working food drives and even helping The National Emergency Agency to train new recruits. You never know what your little act of "Community Service" or even your act of kindness can help. Your few hours of work can contribute to a big part of improving society. I learned so much over the past year about this award and who it has helped. I will always be grateful for the opportunities.
