Achieving the Gold Award has helped me become more confident and innovative. I was a Sea Cadet in my teen years but did not start the award until my early 20s. I am so honoured to have been introduced to the award and to meet HRH The Earl of Essex, Prince Edward. Over the years I have volunteered with the award by assessing participant logbooks and with Ontario Division events. In the future, I hope to continue to attend DoE events and to promote the award to youth.
