I joined the program in 2013 and undertook The Gold Standard Award. I had gone to Kenyatta University on a weekend for a lab session and fortunately it didn’t take place. I noticed some students having fun in the field and I joined them. From there I was invited to go for an Expedition which took place in the Aberdare Ranges in Nyeri.

The Highlight of my participation was when in 2016 H.E The President of Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta joined us in celebrating the 50 years The Duke of Edinburgh International Award has taken place in Kenya. The event took place at Camp Moses in Mount Kenya.

The program helped me develop several skills such as leadership, team work and innovation.

I am also a volunteer for the program and I take part in guiding and assessing participants so they can be able to also benefit from this great gift Prince Phillip gave to the world more than sixty years ago.
