I was at school when i first joined the Duke Of Edinburgh Award scheme in 1996. It was a whole new experience as it taught us how to be tough and independent and face challenges as they come.It taught me how to be a leader and i later went onto be the House Captain for 3 consecutive years. Joining this scheme has made me a better person and who i am today. After securing my Bronze and Silver Award, i finished school and sadly was never able to complete the challenge to secure the Gold Award. If given the opportunity i will work towards achieving this. Thank you to HRH Phillip for bringing this scheme to the youth of today as it is definitely one that I will be enrolling my daughter into. May you rest in peace. You will be dearly missed.
